Luke 1:80 As John grew up, God's Spirit gave him great power. John lived in the desert until the time he was sent to the people of Israel. CEV
The opening text is about John the baptist. He was anointed and given a special assignment for his generation. The prophets prophesied about his coming as the fore runner of the messiah. An angel appeared to his father while doing his priestly duty to announce his coming. Everything that surrounded his birth was supernatural and there was a pre knowledge that a great child was coming. However, I learnt two things from the life of John the baptist in that text.
First, he stayed in the wilderness for God to deal with and prepare him for the journey ahead. He didn't just rush out saying, "I'm the promised child and the anointed one for this generation. Everybody, come and listen to me". Impatience with God's dealing is a common syndrome today among God's children. Truly, they may have sensed the hand of God upon their lives for certain assignment, instead of waiting in the training school of God so that they can be strengthened and equipped, they rush out. It wasn't so with John the baptist. He patiently waited under God in the University of Wilderness to take the pre requisite courses.
Moses knew he was called to be a deliverer but he stepped out ahead of God's timing when he had not been made by God. Ex 2:14 "The man said, "Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?" Then Moses was afraid and thought, "What I did must have become known". When you have not fulfilled the requirement for manifesting in destiny, your world will ask the same question from you: " Who made you..." Every good product must have a label of the maker because it ascertains standard and quality. When a product is without a label, people may doubt its authenticity. The world will ask for your product label: "Who made you". No matter how strong the passion is, no matter how clear the vision is, do not despise the making process of God. God doesn't launch unmade men to undertake the task of making men.
Father, I receive the grace to stay in your making room in Jesus name.
