Knowledge is very important in this warfare. I heard the story of some brethren who engaged in a deliverance session. They struggled to cast the demon out but nothing happened. The demon asked them, "where are you seated"? None of them could answer. A brother who heard all that was happening moved closer to the scene and he gave a scriptural reply, "I am seated with Christ in heavenly places, in Jesus name come out of her". That was how the demon left. In this warfare, the knowledge of your identity in Christ is vital. Demons won't fear you because of your title neither will they tremble because of your physical height.
In Proverbs 11:9, the bible says, "An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered". The deliverance of the righteous is not in long hours of gymnastics kind of prayer. Some persons go physical when casting out demons using physical energy without scriptural knowledge energy. The best way to conduct deliverance is to impart knowledge of God's word into the person in need of deliverance before and after casting out demons. That's why Jesus said in Luke 4:18, "Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to... PREACH(impart knowledge) DELIVERANCE to the captives...(Emphasis mine)",KJV. Hallelujah!!!.
According to Jesus, deliverance is preached before it is prayed. Some are freaks of "deliverance prayers" but fail woefully in seeking the knowledge that will sustain their deliverance and put them above. That's why the same demon keep tormenting them over and over again. You'll see such persons manifest the demon in them in all deliverance meetings. A believer who doesn't know his redemptive rights and privileges will always be in need of "deliverance prayers". When you know who you are in Christ, your kingdom authority, your placement and the status of your sonship, you will put demons where they belong always.
