RUN FROM MAMMON MOTIVATED "THEOLOGY"

Heard about a Bishop who wanted to raise money in his church. He invited another preacher who specializes in raising funds. They had an agreement that five hundred thousand will be his fee for the job. When deals like that are cut, you know God is not involved.

After the program, the professional fund raiser raised about ten million naira but was given a cheque of the agreed amount. He protested it because he felt they should give him more since he raised money than expected. Both the host and invited guest are mammon-driven preachers. I am sure they manipulated the people to give using mammon's "theology".

Mammon has its theology. It is the theology that presents God as one who will not do miracle or heal except you sow a seed. The word mammon is from the Greek word "mammonas" which is often associated with money, wealth, and material possessions. This is an end time demon that Jesus warned against.

According to Pat Holliday's research, "Mammon-Ra was the name of the ancient Syrian god of riches and wealth. It was the Babylonian god of money and forces. Mammon-Ra, symbolized by a double headed eagle, having octopus-like tentacles, is the Egyptian god Pharaoh went down to the river each morning to worship. Mammon is a water demon. The spirit of Mammon is a powerful demon, worshipped with great pomp by pagan Jewish Cabalist hungry and greedy for wealth and power. It’s also the spirit that the world worships".

Without any shadow of doubt, this is the demon that makes people pursue wealth unjustly and live for mundane things alone. Think about the rise in internet fraud, kidnapping, selling of human parts for money and other vices, this is the chief demon behind it.

When Jesus spoke about this demon, he brought in the issue of service/ worship. Why? This demon demand worship from people. Jesus said, "Ye cannot serve(worship) God and mammon"(Emphasis mine).

This demon is always competing with God in the hearts of men. It tries to take the place of God in the lives of people. If it weren't so, Jesus would not have spoken about it the way He did saying, "Ye cannot serve two masters". Mammon is a bad master. Serving God and mammon at thesame time is impossible.

Today, most people do not bow to this god in the physical because his temple isn't around anymore but in their hearts, they bow to him daily because his spirit lives on. They neglect God and His kingdom and run after what mammon can give. This is the reason behind all forms of greed and avarice we see today.

Unfortunately, the demon of mammon controls the actions&preaching of some preachers& ministers of the Gospel. The Gospel that present God as one who needs your money before He can bless you and perform miracles in your life is a mammon motivated Gospel.

Isn't Mammon the reason behind some "dangerous" seed sowing demand that is almost tantamount to merchandising God's free grace and gifts? I've preached a mammon motivated message before unknowingly because that's what I heard those before me preach. I heard it from senior preachers and read it in their books.

When mammon rules the heart of a preacher/ minister, he will not preach,teach or sing without a fee. Listen to what Jesus has to say in Luke12:15(KJV): "And He said unto them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth”.

That scripture has been a caution for me anytime my heart is drifting towards mammon worship. The key to freedom is to dethrone the altar of mammon in your heart through prayers&accurate understanding of the word. As long as you understand your bible from Mammon's perspective, you'll never be free.

The theology of Mammon is strong and it has so many scholars promulgating it. As long as you listen to mammon motivated preachers and attend Mammon preaching churches, you won't be free.

The hold of Mammon is strong, Mammon's culture is a global culture manifesting in different ways. Stand against it.
