GREATNESS- NOT FOR SALE, PAY THE PRICE

November 11, 2023 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

1Tim13-14 "The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus” (NIV).

There's a common fad in the church about "tapping grace" from someone that is deemed to be anointed or someone who operates in a special dimension. This is common in charismatic circles. You'll hear something like this: "I sow this seed to tap into your grace".

There are preachers who encourage their listeners to tap into "their grace" by sowing a seed or by touching them. I've seen this over and over again.

Sincerely, I've preached and practiced this before not until I realize that it is purely unscriptural. The scripture I held on to was Philippians 1:7(KJV) where Paul used the phrase "My Grace". I concluded that every man of God has a special/unique grace that could be tapped into with money or touch.

I saw men as dispenser of grace instead of Jesus. How wrong! I've collected&sown seed on basis of this faulty teaching but I've repented long ago. That's not to say that I don't believe in sowing seeds/ giving but I do it scripturally.

From other versions of the bible that are closer to the Greek rendition of Phillipians1:7, I noticed Paul wasn't referring to a personal possessive grace he had but the grace of God that he shared with the Phillipian church and saints. Wow!

There's no doubt that God has specially given certain graces and abilities to certain people in the body. No doubt about that. However, it is not something to tap into by sowing of seed. We didn't see such example in the bible where grace was transferred by tapping.

I'm fully aware of almost all scriptures that some folks may want to use to support this ministry of tapping. Those scriptures fall short of proper interpretation of scriptures.

God is the giver of grace not man that's why Paul said: "But by the GRACE OF GOD I am what I am..."(1Cor 15:10). No man, no matter how highly placed in the ministry or anointed he is has the ability to dispense grace. Grace is exclusively of God given to men out of His rich kindness.

When next you see a man operating in a dimension that you desire, check out the price he paid to operate in that level and map out plans to pay same or higher price.

The height some men have reached in God cannot be tapped into overnight by giving money. Spiritual heights & dimensions will become too cheap and easy as long as price of money can be used to tap into it.

Dearest, you need to climb the same ladder that man climbed to the top. What he got through years of fasting, prayer, personal consecration and diligence cannot be gotten in a jiffy with a fat cheque. God doesn't accept bribes.

Even though God's grace was available to Paul for exploit, read what he said in 1Cor15:10: "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. NO, I WORKED HARDER THAN ALL OF THEM—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.".

Grace made him a hard worker; results doesn't fall on any man's lap like ripe cherries. You pay the price on your way to result, you don't tap into it.

CONFESSION: I refuse to be lazy. I receive the grace to pay the price for greatness in Jesus name.
