Job1: 22 In spite of everything, Job did not sin or accuse God of doing wrong. CEV

HIS ATTITUDE OF PRAISE IN TIMES OF TRIALS

There are lessons to learn from the life of Job. Whenever you study bible characters especially men & women with good report such as this, it is wise to pay attention to little details about their life and imitate where possible.

The writer of Hebrew says: "We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised"(Hebrews6:12). The bible is God's wisdom in written form for all ages.

Whatever we read about in scriptures is included by God as examples for us, the life of Job is not an exception: "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope"( Romans15:4). This is the word of the Lord.

I saw something that amazed me about Job. When the messenger told him about his loses. Job said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. PRAISE THE NAME OF THE LORD!”(Job 1:21 NLT).

Will you praise God in times of trouble? How can a man say "praise the name of the LORD" after losing all he had? Does it make sense? Just think about it. I can't be sure I'll say the same thing If I was in his shoes. Maybe I will whine a little, complain and do plenty of crying. The heaviness in my heart will reflect all over me.

If i remember to pray at all, i'll start binding and casting demons and raining fire and brimstone on them. I'm just being truthful. Despite Job's troubles, he maintained an attitude of praise. That's a lesson for us there.

If the devil can steal your song he will steal your praise. As a child of God, you're meant to have an attitude of praise and joy regardless of happenings. Happiness is dependent on happenings but Joy is one of the fruit of the Spirit that is not dependent on any event.

The only time some brethren will dance and sing is when a miracle has happened. You can tell when some persons have a testimony to share through their looks. In our faith walk, we praise God on our way to testimonies not until we have one.

Faith for change works well when we have an attitude of praise. Stop looking&dressing your troubles. Do not let people discern your challenges from your looks. Dress well, wear a good perfume, witness the Gospel to someone joyfully, share with the brethren and stop disturbing people around for prayers.

Sometimes, faithlessness is the reason why people are always looking for who will pray for them. Disgrace the enemy with your praise. Be of good cheer, Christ has overcome the world. Hallelujah!!!

Action point

Father I thank you because my challenges and troubles are momentary. They won't last forever. I wear the garment of praise, I refuse the spirit of heaviness, sadness and gloom. I triumph by faith through the finished work of the son of God in Jesus name.
