Psalms 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
Recently, I had a argy-bargy with some of the teengers and adolescents close to me. The mood was a bit jovial though. They told me i'll have many children but I told them I was satisfied with the ones God gave me. We had several back and forth on the matter. It got to a point where I told them to pray for those trusting God for the fruit of the womb instead of telling God to give me 100 biological children as one of them said.
I told them that giving birth to many children will affect my wife. One of them said, "What If God tells you to marry another wife"? I knew a demon spoke through her so I gave a sharp reply saying, "God cannot say that". She replied, "It is just on probability", then I also replied, "That is an impossible probability"(all paraphrased).
You see, I was the big brother around them. Other teenagers( both boys and girls) were listening and whatever I say at that point could be taken as a standard. If I had accepted that young girl's probability that God could tell me to marry another wife whilst my wife is still alive, I may have planted the seed of polygamy subtly in the minds of those young teenagers( especially the boys) around me.
There are certain things God cannot say. Yes, we can predict God on certain things because His nature and mind is revealed in his word. From what we read in his word, we can predict God on certain things. Such things that are clear are not permissible in probability or assumptions because it is impossible for God to say such because his standard remains unchanged.
2 Tim 2:19 says, "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity".
I know a preacher who told his spiritual father that God told him to marry another wife who will give birth to another set of children(3). That is an impossible probability.His legal wife had three children already but he began to hear demons when he began to philander. That is one of the dangers of sexual immorality. It opens a demonic channel to people.
Dearest, when we study God's word properly, we can predict to some extent what God can say and cannot say. Will God tell you to lie or cheat? That's very far from what God can say. I have heard how some prophets advocated pre marital sex because they had a vision that the lady must get pregnant before marriage or else, she'll be barren. Hogwash! As a preacher, God will never tell you to coerce, pressurize or manipulate people to sow seed. No precedent for such in scriptures
The many abuses we see on pulpit today is as a result of preachers who don't know God's nature through His word. They may have heard a voice truly but the instruction received shows God couldn't have spoken such to them because there is no precedent for such in scriptures. No alignment or agreement with God's nature. Unfortunately, some believers fall these things because they are more ignorant biblically than these leaders.
Phony preachers prey on people because of their ignorance in the things of God. As much as it is within your power, get a sound biblical education. Biblical illiteracy stinks to the highest heavens. It is in your best interest to attend a church where premium is placed on teaching God's word clearly not a jamboree centre.
In a conference meeting, my late mentor told us about a preacher who instructed his members to exchange their wives and have sex. He slept with his deputy's wife and vice versa. Gullible members obeyed and were led astray because they believed it was God that spoke. That is an impossible probability. That instruction looks occultic to me. God cannot say that.
To detect the plethora of impossible probabilities there are today, we need to study God's word and understand the very nature of God.
