HANDLING WEAK MOMENTS Pt.2

March 05, 2023 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Psalm18:16-19..."They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me. He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!"

BROKEN PILLARS AND PUNCHED HOLES

A building was marked for demolition. Every attempt made to demolish it was unsuccessful because the building was strong and firm.

They brought a building engineer to suggest what could be done to weaken the building. He suggested to them that they should locate the edges of the building where the pillars are.

He told them that once the pillars are broken and holes are punched randomly on the walls, the building would come down by itself. Truly, they broke the pillars and punched random holes, the building came down by itself.

Before we can handle weak moments and overcome the attack of the enemy at those times, there is a need to identify what is causing the weakness.

Before the devil attack a believer, he tries to break pillars and punch holes. He knows that once he does that, we'll become weak and vulnerable.

The principal weakening agent of the enemy is sin especially secret sins. Secret sins weakens a believer and causes public shame.

When you begin to live a careless life spiritually, you are breaking pillars and punching holes.

Ecclesiastes 10:8 says, 'He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him".

There is an insect called stem borer. If that pest want to destroy a plant, he'll bore holes in the stem of a plant and suck the juice. The plant may look healthy but it is weak. A gentle breeze would bring it down.

Anxiety and cares of this world can weaken a believer and open him up to attack. What about bitterness, wrong association and unloving attitude?

As little as these things seem, they can weaken a man. Indiscipline can weaken our prayer life and being too busy for God can reduce our energy levels spiritually.

We must rise in defense against the enemy so that our pillars would not be broken and holes not punched. Identify and do away with whatever may be punching holes and breaking the pillars in your spiritual life.
