2Kings4:27 And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.
I believe in the ministry of genuine prophets as mouth piece of God. By God's grace, i'm surrounded by a few of them and my journey in life especially ministry is prophetic.
At several times in my journey, God has sent men to me. The ones truly sent by God had an insignia of divinely given message and I confirmed it to be true. I am saying this because some may think I am anti-prophet as a bible teacher.
My concern is to curb or teach against the abuse of the prophetic and to help believers put in the right perspective the office of the prophet. So many relate with prophets as though they know all things whereas, no prophet knows all things.
I have seen folks who run after prophets as If they're omniscient. Some prophets also position themselves as If they can give everyone a word. That's what leads to prophetic manipualation because the prophet will be under pressure to speak when the Lord has not spoken.
One of our fathers in the faith in Nigeria who was a prophet and an evangelist in his life time had an interpreter for years when he was alive. As we were told, they went round for crusades in several parts of the country where interpretation was needed.
For decades, this man operated powerfully in the prophetic and God used him mightily yet it took several years before he discovered that his loyal interpreter was a witch. A staunch agent of darkness. One would have thought being a prophet, he knows all things but that was not the case.
I have seen people relating with prophets as men who knows all things. Some prophets have also projected themselves as men to be consulted. People now consult prophets to force a word out of their mouth and some cunning prophets form lies to impress.
That's a very wrong approach to the prophetic ministry. Elisha was one of the hottest prophets in the old testament yet his confession was that God hid a particular secret from him as seen in the opening text.
Deuteronomy 29:29 says, "The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: BUT THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE REVEALED belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law".
There are things that are revealed and there are other things that are concealed. Dearest, stop patronizing commercial prophets who promises to tell you your future as if they are custodians of all revelations.
True prophets don't advertise for customers as we see today; every gift of the Spirit works as the Spirit wills not as the carrier wills.
No example of such was found in the bible. Jesus was a prophet, and He occupied all ministry offices yet, his primary concern was to preach& teach not to prophesy.
Stop seeking prophecies, be a stickler for God's word, and everything will fall in place. The Holy Spirit can speak to you without a need for an intermediary.
Psalm 32:8 "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye"( Psalm 32:8 KJV).
Father, I receive the grace to stick to your word In Jesus name.
