ARE YOU A SUPER MAN?
I heard the story of a brother who went on the altar to announce that nothing could make him fall into sexual immorality with fair ladies because many think fair ladies are sexually attractive. That's a foolish thing to say.
One day, one of the fair skinned sisters in church put a distress call through to this pastor complaining about severe stomach ache.
He carried his bible and left home without asking the Spirit. Of course he wouldn't be because he was full of himself. His confidence was in the flesh.
As soon as he opened the door, he saw the sister, a fair lady in a seductive mood. He was seduced till he fell into immorality. I thought he said fair skinned ladies don't attract him?
How people trust in the flesh amazes me. Have you forgotten Jesus himself said: 'the flesh profiteth nothing' (John6:63)? Apostle Paul said, "we are the circumcision who worship God in the Spirit who put no confidence in the flesh" (Phil3:3.)
Are you a superman? You know the superman character in children cartoon. He can do things the ordinary man can't do. He can fly over sky scrappers and scale heights and not be tired.
In the arm of the flesh, I don't know of any super man spiritually.
I have decided to hang my life on the grace of God. His amazing grace is enough for me to stand strong till i see him in glory.
Having said all, the grace of God is the only thing to which I can commend you. Apostle Paul after preaching and admonishing his listeners, he openly told them he was commending them to God and to the word of His grace which is able to keep them strong in Christ.
Hang your life and your walk with God on grace, cease from your struggles. Quit trying to be strong in the flesh.
Father, I thank you for your word. I hang my entire life in on your grace not in the arm of the flesh.
