Psalm 55:12-14 If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide.(13) But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend,(14) with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God,as we walked about among the worshipers.
TO SIEVE YOUR RELATIONSHIP
Recently, I read an online post credited to Pastor Benny Hinn. He spoke about how those he thought were his friends did not show up when he took ill. All along, he thought they were his friends but in his low moments, he couldn't find them.
True friends are scarce.
One of the problems the children of Israel had were the mixed multitudes that journeyed with them from Egypt into the wilderness on their way to the promised land. Their relationship started as If they were enthusiastic about the Israelites but they caused more harm than good.
Dearest, you cannot know your true friends until you face life's challenges. God knows that it is impossible to grow in life without good companions and associates. Some people are chaff that must be separated from the wheat of your life.
In the opening scriptures, David told us about his friends and companions that betrayed him. You cannot enter into the fullness of God's plans and purposes for your life not until some people are separated from your life. They are the chaff in the wheat of your life, they are the clog in your wheel yet you call them friends but God knows they are not.
The period of life you have the privilege of knowing your true friends, companions and associates is in your wilderness season.
At the time Jesus was about to be glorified, he needed to hand over the mandate to the 12 disciples, the son of perdition showed up in betrayal. That was a form of separation.
When Job passed through his ordeal, those he thought were his friends wrongly accused him of sinning against God not knowing it was God that permitted it.
In life, we cannot do without friends but God is trying to help us build solid relationship that would sustain us in the promised land. Destiny relationships are built in hard times not in good times.
- Father, help me to separate the wheat from the chaff in my life In Jesus name.
