GO AND DECLARE WHAT HE HAS DONE

Luke 8:39 "Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you." And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him"( ESV)

So many wonder why we share testimonies in church. Some see it as a time of entertainment while some may think it to be a time to show-off or sing the praises of the church or pastor. It is actually none of those things mentioned above.

After Jesus performed a miracle as we read in the opening text, He instructed the recipient of the miracle to go and declare what God has done. We can infer from that story that sharing of testimony is an instruction from God. We don't share testimonies because we want to sing the praises of the church or pastor. It is a divine instruction.

God doesn't like when testimonies are kept unshared. Your testimony can give hope and build the faith of another person . One of the ways to ignite hope in those that are hopeless is to share your own testimony with them.

Tell people what you went through, what you did and the miracle God performed. As you share your testimony, avoid pointing your listeners to a pastor or church, point them to Jesus. He is the miracle worker not man or any preacher.

The moment your testimony begin to give glory to man, you are no longer testifying, you're singing the praises of men.

One good thing about sharing testimony is that you don't need a big platform like standing in front of a big church. You can share it with people one-on-one. It can be used as an evangelistic tool like the Samaritan woman did.

Don’t underestimate the power of sharing what God has done for you through your testimony. You are speaking hope to souls in desperate times and your words may very well save a life, spiritually or physically.

If you’re still alive, you still have a story to tell. Speak up, declare His Word and see the power that comes when you testify!

Action point

Father, I thank you for giving me testimonies to share. I receive the boldness to share my testimony In Jesus name.
