UNDERSTANDING PROSPERITY (Pt.1)

August 23, 2013 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

3John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth.

Prosperity is part of God's agenda for His children. God has clearly stated that HE desires our increase, but how come this increase affects some people negatively and it affects others positively? This is traceable to a lack of understanding.

In 2Chron 1:12, God granted Solomon great riches and wealth, but this prosperity made him displease God (1Kings11:6) when he went after other gods. Abraham on the other hand was also prosperous (Gen 13:2) but he had a clean slate with God all through his life time, till now his impact is still felt.

The difference between both men is their understanding of wealth. Abraham placed God above his wealth and obeyed God while Solomon placed his wealth above God and obeyed his wealth.

Action point

Father, help me to place you above my wealth at all times in Jesus name.
