3John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth.
Man is divided into SPIRIT (this is the actual person), SOUL (emotions, intelligence, mind) and BODY (our physical appearance). The above passage shows that there is a link between the prosperity of our souls (minds) and our material prosperity.
How does the soul prosper? In Romans12:2, we are told to renew our minds(soul). A renewed mind is a prosperous mind. A person with a renewed mind knows that God is his source and not man. This person understands that if he has God, he has everything (Matt 6:33).
Abraham had a renewed mind. He set his priorities right, by placing God at the number one spot in his life. He knew that all that he had was given to him by God and without him he was nothing. This was why he willingly offered up Isaac as a sacrifice to God.
Because of this, God made a covenant of blessing with Abraham (Genesis 22:16-18). The impact of Abraham's decision is still felt till today, the same can be said of you if you intentionally renew your mind by feeding it with God's word.
start to spend more time studying God's word and you are sure to experience a mind renewal.
