DISCERNING REVELATION FOR THE FUTURE
I read an online article about the camp meeting of Kenneth E. Hagin of blessed memory. He started that camp meeting program at the age of 57 according to the writer. Till date, the camp meeting he started is still running well and fine. However, there was something striking about the article that caught my attention. The writer said the camp meeting came as an instruction from God to him probably in the early days of his ministry but he didn't start until he clocked 57. Now, that may sound like starting too late but as far as God was concerned, that was the right time for him to start. What if he had started earlier stating that God spoke to him? He may have made a mess of it.
You need to understand that God can reveal His plan to you about something He wants you to do in the future. When God informs His children about a task programmed for the future, the purpose is to get us prepared for what will eventually happen. Certain things require training, prolong prayer, mentorship and adequate preparation. For example, God may have told you that you'll pastor a mega church but that may be an insight into the future. It may not be for immediate action. Some have rushed into ministry prematurely and they're biting their fingers. While waiting for time, you need to equip yourself in preparation for the fulfillment of what God has said. At other times, the preparation for what God has revealed may demand that you understudy someone who is already in ministry. There are many people who want to be pioneers but do not want to learn under those that have pioneered. This is one of the causes of failure in any endeavour.
Jesus came into the world knowing fully why He came and what He came for but he didn't launch out until He was 30 years of age. All He did in three and half years were known prior but he didn't launch out because he understood the nature of divine revelation. It is not everything God reveals to you that requires immediate action. Certain things revealed to you are not for immediate action but for the future. Learn to ask God questions whenever He speaks to you about a task to be done so that you don't take off before time. There's right timing for every of God's purpose for your life. Don't be in haste.
Father, I receive the grace to discern the timing of your purpose for my life in Jesus name.
