Isaiah61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them abeauty for ashes, the oil of bjoy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called ctrees of drighteousness, the eplanting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
SPIRIT OF HEAVINESS
What is the meaning of heaviness? The word 'heaviness' is from the Hebrew word "Keheh" meaning dull, dim or faint. It speaks of a situation where someone is sorrowful. This sorrow is not necessarily as a result of negative happenings. It is caused by a demon called the spirit of heaviness. Most bible scholars agree that this demon is behind depression. Some are depressed not because of a sad event but simply because they are under the influence of a demonic spirit. In fact, some go as far as commiting suicide despite having medical care by experts. A vivid example is the case of Matthew Warren, son of Rick Warren. When he committed suicide, Kristin Cole, the spokeswoman said, “Despite the best health care available, this was an illness that was never fully controlled and the emotional pain resulted in his decision to take his life,”. The issue wasn't about medical care because he had the best medical care. A demonic spirit was involved.
Depression is a common mental disorder. According to World Health Organization, globally, it is estimated that 5.0% of adults suffer from depression. Depression is a leading cause of disability worldwide and is a major contributor to the overall global burden of disease. The rise in the cases of suicide is becoming alarming. I visited an area some day and I sensed deep sorrow in the atmosphere. My host told me that one of their neighbours committed suicide and when such happens, traditionalists will have to do a spiritual cleansing of that environment. They had the spiritual intelligence to know there's something spiritual about what happened though they applied the wrong solution. The point I'm trying to bring out here is that what we commonly call depression( a mental disorder) also has a spiritual side to it. Several years ago, I was depressed for months. Mine came with feelings of guilt and loss of self worth. Sometimes, I felt something heavy in my chest region. I battled this for several months. When i realized it was demonic, I confronted it with the weapons in my arsenal. I felt something lifted from my chest region. Hallelujah!!! I've been free ever since.
You can be free from depression. You need to realize that your challenge is principally spiritual. Deliverance is one of the ministries of Jesus, Luke 4:18. I appreciate medical scientists. They have been helpful in many ways especially in this aspect. However, pills and injection cannot solve a spiritual problem, it can only take care of physical symptoms. Learn to take authority over this demon whenever you sense it putting heaviness on your heart. Be conscious of your position of authority over demons always and do not cease to use the name of Jesus to send this demon of heaviness packing: "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;" Philippians 2:9-10 KJV. Another helpful thing to do is to live a praise-filled life. When your life is full of thanksgiving and praises, the spirit of heaviness will be far from you because that demon doesn't stay where people are praising God. Also, it doesn't stay in the life of someone that is full of praises.
Father in the name of Jesus, I take authority over every demon of heaviness causing depression in my life,. You demon of depression, i send you out of my life never to return in Jesus name.
