2 Corinthians 6:14 *Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness*?
Recently, I watched a movie where the idea of inter religious marriage was promoted. I believe that is the goal of the producer. The script was written to push that ideology and to promote marital tolerance.
In one of the scenes, the main actor who happens to be the son of a pastor said, "Daddy, in the last inter-religious council meeting, you preached about religious tolerance yet you are doing the exact opposite of what you preached"( paraphrase).
While reading through the comment section of the movie on youtube, someone said, "Both religions preach love yet they don't practice it", this statement got my attention because it is obvious the person and others do not understand what love really is and they failed to realize that in loving unbelievers, there are boundaries.
I am a student of religion but I am a practicing Christian. You will understand the import of this statement soonest. In religion, tolerance is preached for mutual co existence. That is the reason we advocate for freedom of worship even as Christians. Out faith does not preach killing people of other religion to have access to 72 virgins in heaven neither do we hold knife to the throat of unbelievers as a condition for conversion.
Though we have numerous stories of radicals killing Christians because of their faith and burning churches here and there, our faith doesn't permit us to do that. We win souls through persuasive preaching not through the sword. Our master preached love and that has become the charter of our faith.
Matthew 22:39(NLT) says, *"A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself*".
Yet, right there in the same bible, Paul, speaking by the Spirit of Christ says, *"Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness*"?( 2 Corinthians 6:14 NLT).
*The import of this scripture is deep. You can have unbelievers as colleagues, neighbours, clients and so on but in matters that requires team work (e.g Marriage), God restricts me and you from joining team with unbelievers. That is one of the places where our love comes with boundaries*.
*We should love unbelievers to the point of preservation from evil but never to the point of forming a team with them in matters that unite the spirit, soul and body*.
Satan is looking ahead to catch and corrupt generations yet unborn that is why he is twisting the message of love to mean inter-religious marriage but he will not reveal the consequences that lies ahead. He has generations yet unborn in mind because his plans are futuristic.
One of the things he is pushing out for the world to see are couples of different faith living fine but viewers cannot see beyond the optics. Satan is smartly capturing minds yet we fail to realize that the fulfilment of God's purpose is at stake in this matter.
Do you think Satan will promote an agenda that will backfire against his kingdom? He is trying to appeal to the liberal parts of our consciousness to make us feel "It doesn't really matter". That way, there won't be any form of resistance against his plans.
Dear singles, the home is crucial to God's plan so it is to Satan, do not let him in.
