2 Corinthians 4:18 *while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal*.
Sometime ago, I was out to conduct an unstructured interview among some denominational leaders and brethren for research purpose.
During the interview, one of the leaders said, "we make our decisions considering eternity no just for earthly pleasure or gain"( paraphrase). His statements struck me.
It dawned on me that all believers should have the same mindset as well. Nothing should be done without consideration for eternity. I mean absolutely nothing. We must weigh everything on the scale of eternity before decisions are made.
Our time here on earth is very short when compared with the endless time we'll spend in eternity. None of our decisions should escape eternal scrutiny.
At all times, we need to ask, "What does God think about this decision I am about to make"? To this, we'll find answers in His word and by His Spirit. Our decisions will align with God's will If it is in line with the word of God and led by His Spirit.
There are decisions you'll make that will lead you off track and jeopardize your eternal destiny with God. There are places you'll go that may cause you to backslide. That is why it is good to weigh every decision on the scale of eternity.
Those that lose sight of our home in heaven will live for here and now but will not partake in the glories of His kingdom. Of what use is life If we miss it?
Philippians 3:20 *"But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior*".
