*BASIC BIBLICAL INJUNCTIONS* (A)
God is in the business of prospering seekers of His kingdom. He has been doing it and He will continue for the purpose of expanding His kingdom. What he is against is greed and covetousness.
Jesus says, *"Speaking to the people, Jesus continued, “Be alert and guard your heart from greed and from always wishing for what you don’t have. For your life can never be measured by the amount of things you possess*” (Luke 12:15 TPT).
God has set basic principles that should be combined with the systems He put in place for our prosperity as His children. They are timeless, tested and proven to be true.
*1#.GIVING*
Proverbs 11:24 says, *"Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything*" (NLT).
As a child of God, stinginess towards God's kingdom and his people is not part of our nature. God prospers those that give. It is a principle in the order of seedtime and harvest.
Genesis 8:22 says, *"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease*"( KJV).
Apostle Paul also echoed the same principle in Galatians 6:7(KJV): *"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap*".
Paul stated in 2 Corinthians 8:7: *"Since you excel in so many ways...I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving*"
Apostle Paul called it "gracious act of giving" and his desire that we excel in that very act. It should be noted that giving doesn't stand alone to produce result. It must be combined with the systems put in place by God.
Further, the primary purpose of giving should not be transactional as prosperity gospel teaches but out of love for God and his kingdom and as an act of worship to honour Him. This understanding will keep your motive in check.
I have heard of people who demanded a refund of their monies in church because they did not get what they expected. This happens, probably because the preacher presented giving as transactional or the giver did not giving as an act of love&worship. This is one of the problems created by prosperity gospel.
The moment love and worship is taken out of giving, the giver becomes a trader who only becomes happy and excited when there is profit. That is not the mindset God want us to have.
