1Sam17:37-Moreover David said, "The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." And Saul said to David, "Go, and the Lord be with you!"
In continuation of my golden nuggets from this shepherd boy, we see the testimony of his deliverance from the lion and the bear. He bore witness to the saving hand of God in the past and ultimately believed that God who delivers from lions and bears will also do so with a Goliath.
Wow! What a perspective. We really need to stop limiting God. Now, we as believers ought to always recognise one fact: that God is ALWAYS ABLE!
Saul said to David, "you are not able to....". Vs 33.
David replied.."The Lord who delivered me.." Vs 37.
Saul saw David and was most likely wondering what the bloody civilian was doing on a battlefield. And he told him blankly.. "This is not worship service or animal farm."But like you know, its not about us, its about Him who is in us.
This should be our position! As new creation believers, We are Able! In Christ Jesus! Wow. Praise God. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Simply put, we can do the impossible.
I would like to encourage us this morning to look back on the past mercies of God. If God can do it for the saints of Old, then you more than qualify. but don't forget, this is for those who are IN CHRIST JESUS.. For all things work together for the good of those that LOVE God and are the CALLED.
keep saying today and always as you encounter challenges: The Lord who delivered me is ABLE...
