Acts 5:42 And every day, in the Temple and from house to house, they continued to teach and preach this message: “Jesus is the Messiah.” NLT
In a book, I read that one of those pseudo christian churches knock on 900,000 doors weekly all over the world. The purpose is to bring their message to the inhabitants of those homes. They're passionate about winning people to their sects. In London alone, it was reported that the same Pseudo Christian sect has 1,000 people giving away literature - and they get through about 6,000 brochures, 20,000 books, and 100,000 magazines every month, just to win the hearts of men. How much more those of us that carry the authentic message of the gospel and eternal life. It pains God to see religions that do not promise her adherents eternal life spreading like wildfire yet His children who are carriers of His grace and life are keeping mute about the wonders of redemption. It is abnormal for a Christian not to share the gospel with at least one person in a year. It is a pointer to a serious spiritual malady. The fire of revival is the fire for soul-winning. If the fire for soul-winning is dead in you, ask the Lord to rekindle it again.
A sister involved in evangelizing prostitutes told me about some of their converts. She told me how those ladies of easy virtues struggle to pay rent. They have financial target they must meet on weekly or monthly basis. I asked her about how they recruit girls into prostitution. She told me that most of the prostitutes "evangelize" other girls and one person can bring five girls into the business. That's how they perpetuate themselves in the trade. How many lost and unsaved persons have you brought into the faith? We cannot talk about revival without mentioning the early church in Acts of Apostles. That church grew immensely during persecution. Worst of all, it was religious folks that persecuted them the most at the early stage. Why? They felt threatened that they may win everyone over from Judaism to Christianity because their evangelism was aggressive. The fire and passion for soul winning that burned in them was irresistible. Their passion made them to go knocking on doors looking for unsaved people to win unto Christ( Acts 5:42).
Can we knock on doors like they did? Do we really care that some folks are going to hell even in our neighbourhood? Or do we feel too educated to go from house-to-house preaching the gospel? The passion for lost souls and how to get them over into the fold overwhelms a revived man. He is always obeying the "Go Ye" command and keeps finding ways to share the gospel by any means possible. A revived man will not be comfortable around sinners without sharing the gospel. It is pitiful that sects we deem as heretics and modern cults are not ashamed to share their faith by knocking on our doors. When last did you preach to the lost? Are you concerned about the lost?
Father, rekindle my passion for lost souls in Jesus name.
