A LIFE SPONSORED BY GOD Pt.2
Gen 26:2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: KJV
LEARN FROM ISAAC'S STORY
Our opening text speaks about God's instruction to Isaac. In his time, there was famine. That's similar to what we call economic recession today. Economic crunch is not new to the world, its been from bible days. In the days of Isaac, almost everyone desired to seek greener pastures in Egypt. Egypt was the economic giant of that time. Isaac wanted to join the bandwagon but the Lord instructed him not to go and he obeyed. You set yourself up for destruction when you fail to obey instruction. God is speaking to us this season from this short story. The bible says: "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope", Rom 15:4.
The first lesson I picked in that story is God knows the right location where we should be per time. Where people deem as "Greener Pastures" may not be God's will for your life. This is a problem of people from third world country. The craze to travel abroad to secure one's future is common in almost all third world nations. This is due to economic hardship and suffering. Often, most believers fail to ask God if they should go or not. In fact, in most churches in Africa, you can predict that someone is praying to travel abroad. I've been to prayer meetings and gatherings where people came with their passports. Their minds are made up already, they didn't come to seek direction. It is not bad to relocate provided it is God's plan for your life. Many are not asking God if relocation is in line with His will. God's sponsorship is only available to those who are in the right location. There are blessings with your name and address tagged on it but delivery is only possible if you're rightly located.
Some preachers often talk about Isaac's seed but I've only heard few messages on Isaac's obedience to God's instruction. His obedience to God's instruction( not to go to Egypt) was the reason he reaped a hundredfold not : "Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great", Genesis 26:12-13 KJV. If Isaac had left Gerar for Egypt, he would have sown seed in his new location but it won't yield a hundredfold there because the soil is not favourable for such. It is possible to labour rightly in the wrong location. In such instance, good result will be far from such a person. When you're in the wrong location, you'll pay your bills. God want to sponsor you and pay your bills provided you're in the right address.
Father, open my eyes and ears to receive clear instruction on where I should be per time. Henceforth, I receive divine instruction unhindered and I receive the grace to obey in Jesus name.
