A LIFE SPONSORED BY GOD Pt.1
Psalms34:5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
The most recent experience that I will never forget in my adult life is the 2020 lockdown. For me, it was a season of test and trials especially as regards provision. At the onset of that lockdown, I gave out almost all I had on me. There was nothing substantial I could fall back on. If my concern was about me, I wouldn't be bothered but my wife and three children were there to feed. While I had little, I gave from the little and I was prompted to raise monetary support for missionaries, ministers and brethren who were badly hit by the lockdown. In addition, I sold one of my books to raise fund for the palliative program yet I had little or nothing substantial on me. It was easy for me to take from the monies received because I was in need but I didn't. Some persons asked how I was putting up, all I said was "fine". If I had told them how I needed money badly, they may send something to me but all I said was "Fine". Faithfully, I disbursed all donations to those in need. I never knew I was writing a test.
After a while, God sent surprises to me. It became a monthly thing. Sometimes during lockdown, those supernatural provisions landed at intervals of weeks. Sometimes, my children ate several times in a day. There was a day my boys counted for their mom saying, "Mummy, this is section 7". It was the 7th time they ate on that day. I was practically sponsored by God. Other miracles of provisions followed that period that are numerous to mention. Since then, I knew what it meant to trust God totally without looking up to man. I make bold to say that I was sponsored by God and still under God's sponsorship. Sometimes, I've had people ask how we get funds to run our outreaches. The answer is simple, our ministry is sponsored by God not man. Men will surely get tired to our consistent asking but God never will. When I started out in ministry, I had fears. One of the things i desired then was that I will be the sole or major financier of the ministry so I had schemes on how to get that done. Little did I know that a divine vision can't be sponsored by man. The best of human effort is like a basket under the rain, it will never get filled.
I do not know many secrets on how to get God sponsor a man but the very first I'll share among others is to be right at the centre of God's will for ones life. That is the starting point. When you embark on the journey to where God has sent you doing what He has called you to do, you have signed up for God's sponsorship. There's something peculiar about being at the centre of God's plan and purpose for your life. Certain things will begin to happen on their own accord. They'll practically walk into your life without stress. This may not happen immediately but with time, this will be your experience. Saying "No" to the will of God for your life is a call to a life of self sponsorship. That is a hard life. God want to sponsor your life but not without your cooperation. You cooperate with God by obeying His will. God is saying to you and me, "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:" Isaiah 1:19 KJV.
What is God telling you to do that you've not been doing? Prayerfully seek the face of God to know His will for your life per time.
