YOU HAVE A DIVINE TOOL FOR THE TASK

Ex 4:2-3 Then the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied. The Lord said, “Throw it on the ground.” Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it. NIV

I love the story of Moses. When God called him to deliver the children of Israel from slavery in Egypt, he asked the Lord, "...“What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you’?” Exodus 4:1. He heard God clearly about an assignment that seemed so great. It is not easy to be at the forefront of a liberation task. He felt he was not equipped and trained for the job. That's how some of us felt when God called us. God saw his heart and the thoughts running through his mind, then the Lord said, "What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied. The Lord said, “Throw it on the ground.” Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it". Wow! Moses' staff was a major tool in his liberation task but he didn't know not until God revealed to him. Now, you must realize that his staff was a mere staff but when the call came, the power of God made an ordinary staff a supernatural tool for his divine assignment.

You may have sensed the call of God upon your life to do a thing. God may have impressed upon your heart certain things He want you to do for Him but you feel inadequate. Sometimes, you may feel there are better people God could have sent on that assignment yet heaven is pointing at you to undertake that assignment. God will not send anyone on any assignment without equipping the person. The training process sometimes may not necessarily be formal. In fact, it is often not a formal training. Moses didn't know that the wilderness was part of his training. Also, he didn't know that his shepherd's staff was a vital equipment in his liberation assignment. When the children of God got to the red sea and there was nowhere to turn, God told Moses, "And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. 16 BUT LIFT UP YOUR ROD, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea", Ex14:15-16. The same rod that turned snake was the same rod God used in parting the red sea.

When God is training you for a task, he will give you a tool for the task. Often, we look down on those tools God has given us for the assignment yet we are not sensitive enough to know that those things are part of our equipping for the task. Your writing skill may just be what God want to use to change lives. No one knew David's sling was a tool that will make him a national champion and from there be enthroned. Unlike Moses, he was sensitive to know that the sling in his hand had potentials to kill a giant. He didn't go to battle wearing the armour of Saul. Just a sling and five smooth stones. Dearest, you have the tool for the task. Once the hand of God rest on that tool, He will perform wonders with it. You need to be sensitive to know the tool for that assignment. Whenever God reminds you about that task or assignment, simply ask Him to reveal the tool He has given to you.
