YOUR PROFESSION- GOD'S PLATFORM.

MARK 16:15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." KJV

Anytime I read the salvation story of Bishop David Oyedepo, it reinforces my stand on the fact that end time harvest will not only be achieved by evangelists and those we call "clergy" but by God's children who have contact with their world through professional platforms. Bishop David Oyedepo gave his life to Christ on February 19th 1969. He was led to Christ by Betty Lasher, his school teacher. At the end of that year, his school end of session report by his Principal read ‘Spiritually Robust’. That harvest has impacted lives globally and is still doing exploits. Imagine this generation doesn't have a man like him? He is not a product of a crusade meeting. A school teacher brought him into the faith and he has been burning ever since.

One would think a man of that stature got born again on the crusade ground. It is common to hear stories of how people got born again in special meetings conducted by a great evangelist or how they saw Jesus Christ in a vision. That's fine but not everyone will have that experience. Betty Lasher is a model believer who understand that the work of soul winning is not limited to the crusade ground. She saw her job as a platform for spreading the Gospel. I'm sure the woman must have led others to Christ from the classroom most of whom we don't know. She'll be rewarded like every other person who led people to Christ from the altar. Those days in UNILAG, we had a driver who sang evangelistic songs anytime students board his cab. The moment you board his cab, you cannot but listen to the Gospel through his songs.

The end time harvest is not the duty of professional preachers alone but for every child of God. Our career expressions are divine platforms to reach out to the lost and dying world with the message of eternal salvation. God didn't give you that job all because of money. He saw ahead and decided to place you in that office because He want you to reach certain people who may never come to church or a crusade meeting. The average church folk in business or working in an office makes contact with people from different walks of life most of whom a full time pastor or evangelist may not meet in his life time. Imagine the number of students( harvest) that will pass through a university lecturer or school teacher who served for 35 years? What if believers working in those environment come up with an evangelistic strategy that best suit that environment without breaking ethical codes? When Jesus told us to "Go" into the world, He didn't say everyone should "Go" as a professional preacher. We are to obey the "Go ye" as we are. Doctors, lawyers, school teachers, artisans, technicians, students, etc are to "Go ye" taking advantage of their profession as a platform. Let God's kingdom profit from your career expression.

Action point

Device strategies to reach out to the lost using your career platform. Do this in such a way that the ethics of your profession won't be breached.
