Eph 5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise.
WALK CIRCUMSPECTLY
The word 'circumspect' is a derivative of the Latin "circumspicere" meaning to be cautious. The basic meaning of Latin circumspicere is "to look around." Near synonyms are prudent and cautious.
As believers, the word of God is saying we must be cautious in our daily walk because there is great evil in our world today. There are several areas of life where we need to be circumspect especially in the choices we make, even where we live.
In our relationships with people, we must be circumspect. One of the reasons Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to us is because he want us to be properly guided in all areas of our life- relationship inclusive.
As believers, how should we relate with others? Who should be in our company? Answering these questions and many more will guide us in living a circumspect life.
In 2Cor6:14, Apostle Paul says, "Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness"?
Your best friend and adviser should not be an unbeliever. Towing that path is a sign that you lack basic bible wisdom.
In marriage, you should not be united with an unbeliever. Don't be deceived by the niceness and show affection of that unbelieving suitor. He/she could be a ticking time-bomb. You cannot predict a man or woman without Christ.
In our day-to-day living, it is wise to pursue peace with men(Heb12:14) without compromising our stand on righteousness.
CONFESSION: I walk circumspectly in the name of Jesus.
