YOUR WALK Pt.1

WALK AS CHILDREN OF LIGHT
I spent part of my adolescent years in my home town. Our house had no electric power supply for sometime though some houses had power connection. As a young boy from Lagos, life in my home town was boring and there was fear at night because we were surrounded by bushes and trees. We did not watch t.v.,the only thing we listened to was my dad's battery powered radio.
We heard several animal sounds at night. Darkness painted images in my heart so I was scared to move out at night. My dad ensured our house got the needed connection to power.
It was a day of joy seeing power pole erected and cables running into our country home. Light came and darkness was dispeled. If you have not lived in darkness, you may not appreciate light.
Jesus is the light. If we walk in Christ, the darkness of this world cannot overcome us. John1:4-5 says, "In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not". Hallelujah!!!
Darkness is synonymous with sin and evil. Jesus came to dispel darkness. The man in Christ is in the light already. In fact, by virtue of being in the light, he has become the light. "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.".(Matthew 5:14).
Your duty is to shine the light of Jesus in you anywhere you find yourself. Sin and evil should not be associated with you. In your office, school and neighbourhood, shine the light through your godly character. Godliness is the true mark of living in the light.
Paul says, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light".( Ephesians 5:11-13).
CONFESSION: I walk in the light of Jesus. I shine the light of Jesus. I shun evil and I embrace light in Jesus name.
