I have seen victims of broken marriages whose homes failed because of wrong pastoring and faulty ideologies of the church leaders about marriage. The church that should have held their homes cohesively became instrumental to their separation and eventual divorce. This is not the will of God.
The home front is vital and crucial to God's plan this endtime. The home determines so much in the church and society that is why Satan is all out to attack marriages. From a warfare perspective, Satan is behind most( If not all) of the marital problems we are seeing in today's world. He knows the potential of every Christian home and the harm their seeds can do to his kingdom so he does all that is within his power to strike the home.
In this age where Satan targets homes and families of believers, no other institution can help other than the church. One of the reasons God instituted the church is to minister to families and homes. The church is an agent of home building. I am glad many churches are waking up to this responsibility. The church can still do more.
The ministry of the church to homes and families starts with helping singles to get it right by guiding them with word-based counsel and ensuring they make the right choice provided they cooperate. I know a big sister in the faith who used to say, "when I want to marry, I will allow so and so church to handle my marriage counselling". That church is known to have a strong marriage counseling unit. It is proper for a church to have a good structure for those entering into marriage and it is wise for singles to submit to such laid down structures as long as it is biblical.
Those who bypass sound pastoral counsel, scrutiny and approval often have problems in their marriages. I have seen this not once or twice but severally.
Further, the church exist to keep teaching couples how to have christian homes. The church is to disciple people into having christian marriages. If you're privileged to be under a church leadership that is interested in the wellbeing of your home, you're favoured.
