1Thessalonians5:17- Pray without ceasing
One of my trainers in school of ministry told the story of what he saw while going to church years back. He saw a crowd at a junction and there was a woman there who confessed she was a witch. She was sent on assignment to Lagos after they concluded their meeting at Ijebu- Ode, Ogun state, South West Nigeria.
On her way, she flew over a particular church that was praying intensely so she missed her route. She fell from the sky and began to confess. That's what intense, soul hot and fervent prayer can do. In all her years of practicing witchcraft, I want to assume she has flown over churches and houses where Christians were but nothing happened until she flew over that church that prayed intensely. Can your prayer life make demons uncomfortable in your domain?
The church of today is yet to tap into this dimension of prayer like saints of old did. The early church prayed and where they met shook: "After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken"( Acts 4:31 NLT). The intensity of their prayers from within reverberated in the physical. Earthly elements felt it.
Samuel Chadwick said, "The one concern of the devil is to keep the saints from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, work and Christian activities. He laughs at our toil, mocks our wisdom, but trembles when we pray". That is a profound statement.
I have been in cold and dry prayer meetings but i've also been in intense atmosphere of prayer. The difference is clear. If we would bring divinity to intervene in the affairs of humanity, I know no other means than prayer. The devil loves to attack our prayer life with too many activities because he's afraid anytime we pray.
Thank God for the increase in knowledge and great awareness about other aspects of our christian faith. Knowledge glows when it is borne out of the womb of prayer.
A supernatural ministry is impossible without a virile prayer life. The saints of old didn't joke with prayer because it was their life-line.
Good dreams and vision are good, possessing a great knowledge of scriptures is a must but what binds it all is prayer. The devil doesn't respect theologians but he fears a 'kneologian'. Anyone can be a theologian, even unbelievers but not anyone can be a 'kneeologian'. It is exclusive to those that are blood-washed and sanctified
The man whose hearts kneel in prayers can rise up to face the hordes of hell, set the captives free and raise the banner of Christ. Intense prayer is a must for victorious Christian living.
Holy Spirit, set my prayer life on fire. I cast out every spirit of prayerlessness in my life In Jesus name.
