Luke18:9-14-"...The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners,unjust,adulterer...I fast twice in the week... And the publican, standing
DON'T BE SELF-RIGHTEOUS
afar off, would not lift up so much eyes to heaven but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner..."
Take your time to read this portion of the bible very well, you will see that Jesus accorded justification to the publican not the pharisee. Self-righteousness subtly creeps into our lives unknowingly.
I wonder why someone feels he's qualified for God's best because he hasn't committed a type of sin before. I once heard someone say that God can't give non-virgins some types of assignment. That's heresy, Rahab the harlot is a great grand mother of Jesus.
Learn to trust in grace always. If we have to enter heaven based on our righteousness, the scriptures said it is a filthy rag. We can only make it by grace, because by strength shall no man prevail
