Eph2:8- For ye are saved by grace through faith, not of works lest any man should boast.
SALVATION BY GRACE-NOT WORKS
Religious spirit doesn't believe that salvation comes through the grace of God apart from the works of the law. Someone with this spirit always want to 'earn a stautus' with God by being legalistic. Such people may find it hard associating with others for fear of losing their salvation.
God has called us into a relationship of liberty within the confines of His word and not man-made rules. If the law could save us, Jesus wouldn't have died for us, we can come boldly to God through the blood of Christ.
If you have to do any other thing apart from confessing Jesus and forsaking your sins as a means of getting saved, you will never do enough of it. Your fight for perfection is futile without the blood.
