Philemon1:6 I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.
Some prayer points are not biblical. I have heard some preachers lead prayers that are toxic and self glorifying.
There are different prayer points circulating in print and electronic media. We are in the era of prayer books, video prayer, social media prayer, internet prayer and all sort.
Preachers are using all possible avenue to reach out to people more than ever. Praise God! I have heard very strong prayers being played from disc player at bus stops. That's a very wonderful initiative.
However we need to look into scriptures to know the kinds of prayer the saints of old prayed that birth a revival.
They didn't pray to 'blow', their prayers focused majorly on kingdom expansion.
Apostle Paul prayed for Philemon that he maybe active in sharing the gospel so that he would have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. That's a kingdom-centred prayer!
Paul knew that If Philemon was active in sharing his faith in Jesus to sinners, souls would be saved and more people would be added to the kingdom. As he does that, the gospel becomes clearer to him.
As a christian, you need to always pray this type of prayer for yourself and others in the fold. Any pastor whose members are struggling to evangelize, this is the right prayer point for your members. It is a precursor to church growth and kingdom expansion.
Can you imagine having a congregation of 50 active soul-winners whose target is to to win lost souls and bring unchurched people into the church monthly, won't that be massive?
- I pray that you shall be active in sharing the gospel to the lost with a great sense of urgency In Jesus name.
