Ephesians 4:16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. NLT
There are gifts that come directly from God. We know these gifts to be those spiritual graces that enables believers for kingdom service.
Another class or type of gifts is what we commonly call the gift of men. This refers to a situation where God brings you into relationships, circles and associations that will boost your vision.
It is God bringing useful men your way for life and destiny. We all need the gift of men.
Sometimes, I wonder why Christ, the messiah needed the company of 12 disciples in his ministry. As God himself, one would think that He'll come to the earth and evangelize the whole Isreal alone, die and return to heaven.
He discipled his disciples and sent them out to carry on his missionary mandate even before he died: "The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit" ( Luke 10:1 NLT).
After he resurrected, he commissioned them officially to go into the world to continue his ministry(Matthew28:18-19). We are partakers of that mandate. Why didn't he do it alone? Why didn't he send angels?
Another surprising thing about the ministry of Jesus was that he had people ministering to his needs. The book of Luke 8:1-4 told us that there were some women who ministered to his needs from their substance.
Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s business manager; Susanna; and many others who were CONTRIBUTING FROM THEIR OWN RESOURCES TO SUPPORT JESUS and his disciples ( Luke 8:3 NLT).
In essence, they were ministry partners of Jesus who ensured that he had enough supplies and provisions for his crusades and for personal welfare. Why didn't he command money to fall from heaven and carry on?
Apostle Paul also had co labourers in his ministry(Col4:7-12) and it was on record that the Phillipian church supported him financially(Phil4:15-16).
As you know, you Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News and then traveled on from Macedonia. No other church did this. Even when I was in Thessalonica you sent help more than once (Philippians 4:15-16 NLT)
Even Paul, the rugged apostle was not a lone ranger. Brethren in Phillipi supported his apostolic ministry from their resources. One would have thought he was all alone doing his thing alone by the anointing.
In the pursuit of their vision, they didn't run with it as a lone ranger. They were surrounded by useful men.
We will never outgrow the need for resourceful men as long as we're on earth. The earth has no place for self-made men.
It is not enough to pray for the gift of men. We must learn how to attract and nurture meaningful relationships by loving people genuinely and caring for them.
Those that ride on the wings of arrogant self-sufficiency mentality don't go far but those that master the art of networking and partnership will always get to the finish line on time.
When Adam was in his perfect state, God saw the need for a help meet(Gen2:18). It was not the fall of man that necessitated him needing help, it is God's grand design for anyone pursuing a great vision to be in need of help.
If you don't want to die unfulfilled, be open to receiving help from God and man. Destiny fulfilment is not for lone rangers. You need the gift of men.
Pray for it and nurture relationships
Father, I need the gift of men In Jesus name.
