GREED& MAMMON WORSHIP
Mammon-ra is believed to give wealth. In ancient times, mammon worship was common. Today, the altar of Mammon has entered into the heart of men.
Anyone that comes under the influence of Mammon can do anything to be rich. Our generation has made mammon worship a tradition.
It is a subtle demon that can influence believers by making them seek only the things of this world at the expense of the kingdom.
I have met people who believe that you cannot be wealthy except you are into some shady deals.
There's a growing tradition of worshipping mammon and making life look as if everything in it is all about having money. Musicians sing about it often.
A singer said, "If you no get money, hide your face". Most politicians are in politics to amass wealth at all cost. You wonder why they are desperate to win election and retain their seats.
It is all because of mammon. Painfully, this growing tradition of putting mammon first has crept into the church secretly.
'Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own”(Luke 12:15).
The tradition of greed has made the prayer of most people to be full of " bless me" with the wrong purpose and intent not because of their love for the kingdom.
This tradition of greed is the reason why people cheat and change figures at work and they'll console themselves with statements like: "opportunity comes but once". That's an evil tradition that must stop.
Internet fraud is gradually receiving the nod of people who should speak against it.
Proverbs13:11 says, "Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow".
Do not subscribe to this evil tradition of greed that doesn't care about how money is made. The way of Christ is hard work, godliness and contentment with whatever we have.
Paul said, "But godliness with contentment is great gain"(1Tim6:6). In verse 10 of the same chapter Paul said, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs".
Run from greed and love of money.
Father, deliver me from the evil tradition of greed in Jesus name.
