Galatians 1:8 Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News(Gospel) than the one we preached to you (NLT, Emphasis mine).
Sometime ago, I was in a public bus where a woman was preaching. She started with the message of repentance but ended with personal dogma and anti- gospel ideas.
In fact, she preached to a point where she said that christianity and other faith are one as long as good works is constant. Hey! That's a very dangerous ground to tread. Total error.
Eph2:8-9 says, "God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it" ( Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT).
Good works saves no man. If it does, heaven will be for philanthropists only. How much of philanthropy can you do to be saved? Salvation is in Christ alone only for those who believe in his redemptive work on the cross.
We don't do good works to be saved rather, we do good works because we are saved. Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago"( NLT).
This bus preacher messed the whole thing up when she began to talk about women adornment& hairdo. That elicited negative reactions from everyone in the bus.
Another preacher in the bus told expectant women wearing trousers that they won't give birth to a child because the angel sent to bring their babies will be seeing a man instead of a woman. Hogwash!
If you don't understand the gospel, please don't preach it. Just sit under a teacher and learn properly so that you can preach rightly. It is good to have zeal but knowledge is key.
Preaching the gospel without adequate understanding leads to creation of dangerous errors that can lead people off course.
Jesus spoke about the doctrine of men in Matthew15:9. I have noticed the doctrine or gospel of men is causing confusion all over the place today.
It is a doctrine that takes the focus of people away from the cross and the finished works of Christ. The message of the cross is the authentic message the world must hear. That's our boast.
Galatians 6:14 days, NIV: May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
The doctrine of men is 'Christopagan' in nature. Anywhere you see a mixture of Christian practices and paganism, that's Christopaganism.
Pastors must teach their members the content of the gospel message in clear terms so they can communicate it effectively to others.
As a soul-winner, your duty is to present Christ and his finished work to the people. Some are proclaiming the gospel of their denomination and 'papa' not that of Christ.
Your invitation to sinners should be to Christ first before inviting them to church. Christ-centred gospel is the authentic gospel.
Father, I receive grace to present the gospel of Christ to people accurately without mixing it with dogma and heresies In Jesus name.
