LOVING YOURSELF Pt.7

3John 1:2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

YOUR HEALTH (C)

Kenneth E. Hagin of blessed memory in one of his books told the story about his reluctance to allow his wife go for a surgery. He had achieved much success in the area of faith healing and the miraculous. One can easily understand the reason for his reluctance. One day, while praying in front of the altar, he saw Jesus in a vision. Jesus told him to allow his wife go for the surgery. He obeyed and his wife had a successful surgery. She lived out her years and she died a fulfilled woman. That's God's plan for our lives. It is not God's will for us to live in pains and agony. Never! The surgery didn't reduce God neither did it take the shine off God. Spiritual pride coupled with ignorance has hindered some folks from getting medical help when needed. They feel too big to consult a doctor or they see it as anti faith.

One of the top healing evangelists in America wrote in his book that before climbing the stage, his doctors check him to ensure he is medically fit. In fact, he has a personal physician in his ministry team and they travel together. That humbled me. Some believers ran into health trouble when they heard a preacher tell them he hadn't been to the hospital in decades. They thought it was faith but they failed to realize that such preachers go for regular medical check up from time to time, eat good food ( not junks), drink treated water, avoid mosquito bite at all cost, and take powerful supplements. This is my findings and it is confirmed but they hardly share this secret with you. Why some preachers who talk like that don't tell the whole truth is what I don't understand. Probably they want to appear as super human but they're misrepresenting what faith is all about together. I am concerned about so many believers who have lost their lives due to ignorance and I don't want you to be a victim because you have a great life ahead.

When King Hezekiah took Ill and was told he would die by Prophet Isaiah, he prayed and God instructed Isaiah saying: “Go back to Hezekiah, the leader of my people. Tell him, ‘This is what the Lord , the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I WILL HEAL YOU, and three days from now you will get out of bed and go to the Temple of the Lord"( 2 Kings 20:5 NLT). There's a question we need to answer: How did God heal Hezekiah? Let's look at verse 7: then Isaiah said, “Make an ointment from figs.” So Hezekiah’s servants spread the ointment over the boil, and Hezekiah recovered! God healed him through the use of a medicinal ointment. It was God that healed him because He said he would heal him in verse 5. However, God worked through a medicinal means to achieve the healing. That doesn't reduce Him as the almighty. Those who love themselves enough to be alive and well take advantage of God's wisdom available in medical praxis.

Action point

Father, I receive wisdom in this matter in Jesus name.
