In the opening text, apostle Paul makes it clear that anyone who speaks in tongues should pray for the ability to interpret what has been said. Meaning that everyone who speaks in tongues can interpret the mystery spoken in another language If they ask the Lord for interpretation ability. Also, you must understand that tongue speaking in the context of this chapter is a devotional gift not for public use.
In verse 14, Paul made it clear that when praying in tongues, it is the human spirit that is praying but the mind doesn't understand anything said. If we spin that round, it would mean that when we pray in the spirit and the candle of our mind is lightened supernaturally with an unusual understanding, then we have the interpretation of our tongues.
I want to boldly tell you that you can interpret your tongues. Yes, you can by the help of the Spirit. However, you need to understand how it works. Have you prayed in tongues to a point where you have unusual understanding about a thing or situation or you knew something about someone? I mean something you did not think about before entering into prayers?
If your answer is yes, then, you have received interpretations to the tongues you have spoken but you did not know what it was probably because you are not trained along that line. You see, spiritual things can be taught. That is, the operations of the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:1 says, "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant".
Paul told the Corinthian believers not to be ignorant about the gifts of the Spirit, it shows one can learn about it. The expression of the gifts of the Spirit cannot be taught but the dynamics of its operations can be taught.
Learn this today: after praying in tongues extensively with full concentration, don't ignore the deep impressions you might have on your heart. It could be about you, someone or something. Pray more in tongues. If It comes stronger again, that is the likely interpretation of the tongues spoken. Sometimes, it could comes like a flash vision in your heart.
I have received interpretations to tongues by revelations and insight. This is how it occurs and same can be your experience. God is not willing to keep you in the dark about issues of your life. The ability to pray in tongues and interpret is for your profiting. Take advantage of it today.
After praying in tongues, take note of the strong impressions you have in your heart. That is the likely interpretation of tongues spoken. If there is none, go ahead and make declarations about your situation believing God for a change.
