2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ
Several years ago, I had a bad dream. In that dream, some persons attempted to set me ablaze. When I woke up, I was terrified so I told a brother. He told me to take a prophetic action of stabbing the edge of my bed. Due to my low level of knowledge then, I took a knife and stabbed the edge of my bed severally.
I wish I had known the power in the name of Jesus and my authority as a believer, I wouldn't have stabbed the bed. There is an easy way out in Christ becauase what ignorance and religion made complex, Christ made easy.
Our walk in Christ is meant to be a faith walk. A walk that believes only in the finished work of Christ on the cross. A walk where we obtain our victory, healing and answered prayers on the merit of sacrifice and not on rituals and sacrifices prescribed by religion.
Some persons prescribe 'rituals' for obtaining forgiveness and salvation. Something Christ paid for already with his precious blood. Whenever I hear some preachers tell people to spend days in fasting and prayers before obtaining forgiveness, I know the spirit of legalism is at work.
How long does it take God to forgive, 2, 3, 4, 5,6,7 days? 1 John 1:9 KJV says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". The very moment you repent and confess your sins, you are forgiven.
I have been to prayer meetings where the prayer leader asked that we confess sins of our childhood. So I thought to myself, how long will it take God to forgive the sins of my childhood? Does he keep records of sins I have confessed?
Isaiah 43:25 “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more".
God doesn't keep record of forgiven sins.
Religion attempts to make hard what Christ has made easy. For instance, some go to church with canes to beat their enemies, some go with cutlass to kill their enemies. Some have imported African Tradition rituals into Christianity thinking it is the way out as long as the name of Jesus Christ is called into it.
There are doctrines of demons everywhere. 1 Timothy 4:1 says, “The Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons" (NASB).
Anything that takes the shine off Christ and his finished work on the cross is demon inspired.
CONFESSION: Father I thank you for the cross. I thank you for redemption, I thank you for the blood that you shed for me on calvary. I thank you for my victory over sin, satan and demons.
