SCREEN IT WITH THE WORD

1Jhn4:1-Beloved, believe not every spirit, but TRY the spirit whether they are of God...

Sometimes ago, someone narrated a revelation to me about a woman that claimed to have seen Jesus. She said Jesus told her that whenever couples are having sex, the HolySpirit will come out of them and stay away from them. This lie went viral.

She sold books and tapes of well formed lies and many bought into it. Later, I was told by a minister of the Gospel that her revelation caused a lot of problems in a church because some of the women don't want the Holy Spirit to "jump" out of them during sex so they began to deny their husbands.

We can't tell how many homes that evil revelation destroyed. That woman later recanted all she said and denied seeing a revelation. This happened years after many people have patronized her lies and bought her books and tapes.

You need to know the difference between Holy Spirit and familiar spirits. Demons also reveal things to people and it'll look real. That someone claimed to have seen Jesus or a vision of heaven/hell doesn't make him/her authentic.

Some are freaks of those spurious liars claiming to have seen what the ordinary eye can't see. I'm not saying God doesn't show people visions but running after visions and revelations isn't the right thing for a child of God to do.

Your desire should be to know more of God through the word of God. If there's anything I desire to know accurately, it is the written word.

When someone comes telling you "thus saith the Lord", you have a biblical right not to accept what he/she is saying until it is adequately proven.

Listen to John, "Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world".(1 John 4:1 NLT)

The biblical litmus test for revelations is to check if it conforms to God's word and His principles. Better put, we need to check if it conforms to accurate interpretation of scriptures.

A revelation may resemble something that is written in scriptures yet it doesn't conform properly to God's standard if interpreted accurately. A man said all of us will face the white throne judgement because he saw it in a revelation but I disagreed because the believer won't face the white throne judgement as revealed in scriptures. We'll face "BEMA" judgement.
Even though white throne judgement is found in scriptures and he saw it in his revelation, I stand with accurately interpreted scriptures on that issue.

Whatever message or revelation that leaves out the fundamentals of our faith which is salvation by grace isn't from God. Any revelation that brings us into legalistic bondage and rituals like it was in the Mosaic days isn't from God.

Christ has become the centre of our worship. Whatever cannot be found in Christ and properly explained in the epistles is obviously not by the Spirit. Don't go around patronizing lies and liars.

Action point

I receive grace to know the accurate truth In Jesus Name.
