The word protect in the scripture above connotes loyalty to someone as seen in the life of David and Jonathan. If you say you love someone, no matter the weakness of that fellow, God's love in you should cover-up for the person- that is protection.

Jonathan had every reason to kill David because it was obvious that David's fame and feat has spread abroad than that of his father(Saul), but Jonathan choose the path of true friendship-loyalty. He didn't betray nor back stab David.

Love can be redefined as loyalty to people without strings or conditioned attached.

CONFESSION: I receive grace to remain Loyal and true to God and my subordinates In Jesus Name.
