THE BURDEN OF MENTORSHIP
I have run in life with and without a mentor. I can tell you boldly there is a huge difference. God did not create us to do life alone. No one. Lone rangers don't go far.
Every great dream and vision requires men of depth to counsel and guide. Those men with depth might not be popular or famous but they have the depth that will help you sustain the height you desire. That's how to last for long.
The undoing of the young is to misinterpret zeal as wisdom and knowledge.Zeal without knowledge is the undoing of many youth. Before featuring in your future, you need a mentor.
A mentor is someone who has gone through what you are going through, someone with depth spiritually, someone whose sensitivity to the Spirit is so sharp, someone that is ahead of you spiritually and in other areas of your life.
A mentor is not someone whose advice you listen to only but someone whose advice you take. A mentor is meant to correct you and not to pamper you.
Tormentors pamper you because of what they'll get from you but your mentor will tell you the plain truth without being emotional about it. They have no special interest in your fat offerings or seeds. All they desire to see is the fulfilment of your God-given dreams.
God would have created everyone to have equal anointing, experience and knowledge but He didn't. God's order of creation is such that those ahead should disciple those coming behind.
As a youth, this is the time to carry the burden of mentorship. Don't run from those that can teach, discipline and monitor your progress. Thinking the books you've read is enough to guide you in life is a big deceit.
You need a mentor who can grant you access. That man you read about or listen to is at best a role model but now you need someone who will pay close attention to your life. That is how to grow.
Prayerfully choose a mentor and not a tormentor.
