STOP FORGETTING PEOPLE AT THE WELL

Exodus 2 :20 ; And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread. (KJV)

The daughters of Jethro returned home earlier than usual. Their father was surprised at their return. They told him that a man made their journey fast by helping them fight the herders who prevented them from fetching water.

Jethro asked, "And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread". They left their helper( Moses) at the well. Their memory was short, they quickly forgot their benefactor but thank God for a man who knew what ought to be.

If you audit your journey in life, you will discover that there was a time you were like the daughters of Jethro needing help at the well of life. However, God sent help through someone who decided to make your life's journey easy and fast.

Let me ask you, why have you forgotten the person who helped you? Why did you develop a sudden amnesia about people God used to bring you to the place where you are?

There is no self-made man on earth. We all rode on the back of someone to get to where we are right now.

I hate this culture of forgetfulness and ungratefulness. A generation is rising that specializes in using and dumping people. They intentionally choose to fight those that were instrumental to their greatness. Their focus is always on the imperfections of those that helped them. They erase from their memories their good sides.

Dearest, do not join them lest you partake in their sins. God will judge those who repay evil for good. It is an evil thing to fight or forget your benefactors.

Proverbs 17: 13 says, "Evil will never leave the house of one who pays back evil for good".

That widow whose food you ate without paying deserves some appreciation in kind and cash now that you are a millionaire. That school teacher who paid special attention to you deserves appreciation from you. Without him/her, you may not be where you are today. Queen's English will not help that teacher.

That pastor who fasted and prayed with you during your trying times should not be left to suffer. He may be struggling to pay school fees of his children right now but here you are, blessed and abounding. You ignore his calls because you don't want to associate with him. Is that how you were taught?

I heard you are now doing well in ministry, even better than your sunday school teacher and the pastors whom God used to raise you in the faith. They have become "old School" because they can't speak English well. Now that you have become a household name, sending support to that pastor or paying your ministry tithe to him won't be a bad idea.

Those who helped you in the past did not because they were comfortable but because they had a good heart. Take them away from the well and let them come ans dine with you

Action Point:

Review your journey in life and this year, appreciate those God has used for you.
