Phil2:3-Don't do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others better than yourselves. GNT
The difference between a vision and ambition is that vision will outlast you, benefit others and glorify God while ambition is all about you for a selfish end. We have bad leaders especially in Africa because most of them are men of selfish ambitions not vision.
When you conceive an idea, decipher the source of that idea before you work on it. It is possible to start-up businesses, study courses and even ministry out of selfish motives. As kingdom citizens, we don't do things because it comes as an idea or because others are doing it, we act based on clearly defined mandate from God.
Selfish ambitions ruin, vision rule. Selfish ambition may last but vision outlast. The easiest way to know if you are walking the path of selfish ambition is to genuinely ask yourself who's going to benefit from what you want to do and for what purpose?
- Father, cleanse me from all selfish ambitions In Jesus name.
