BE CONSISTENT IN YOUR PRAYER DEVOTION.

The world once saw the exploits of a man who shook hell and enthroned righteousness. He was at the forefront of a revival that made alcohol not to be sold in a city. 100 years after he left, liquor wasn't sold. His name is John Wesley. John Wesley (the father of Methodism) was a man whose life of faith and devotion drew many to the Lord. His prayer life was exemplary and worth emulating. Wesley spent two hours every morning in prayers in his closet off the bedroom. That small room was known as the 'The Powerhouse of Methodism'. That man shook his world for Christ.

Many have read and heard about John Wesley and they desire to do the exploits of John Wesley. However, they are not consistent in the place of prayer like John Wesley. He was consistent in his prayer life. Some persons enter a season of fervent prayer but when they don't see the manifestation of the supernatural, they relent. To be used mightily by God, your consistency in prayer must be established. To be much for God, you have to be much with God. You cannot do greater works until you pay the price for greater works in the place of consistent prayer. Jesus was a man of consistent prayer and he spent time alone praying for hours( Luke5:16). Greater works is meant for prayer addicts and not those that lazy around. I'm yet to see a man that shook his world for Christ who is not a prayer addict because there is no other place where they can draw strength from except in the place of prayer. The psalmist says, "Seven times a day do I praise you because of your righteous judgments", Psl119:164. This is a strong prayer culture worth emulating.

Sometimes ago, I read about the late Yongi Choo. Before one of his services, he was to join his friends at the table for lunch at 2 O'clock but he went to pray in tongues for four hours. He told them that he needed four hours with God in the place of prayer before evening service. How long do you pray before ministering in your evening or mid week services? Until you are consistent in the place of prayer, greater works is not in view. His exploits in ministry was traceable to his consistency in the place of prayer. There's a generation that is not praying but they're criticizing those that are praying. They give more attention to the glitz and glamour of ministry, love stage light but have no light on their prayer altar. Little wonder why there's no revival. Sometimes, before God will launch us into certain dimensions, he may need to see decades of consistency. Most of the exploits of Kathryn Khulman happened in the last ten years of her life. She was consistent for years before she launched into the divine. In the school of prayer, we don't go on holiday.
