For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men."_ — _Titus 2:11_
HOW TO WALK IN GRACE - GROW IN IT (b)
One common confession in most of our meetings is the sharing of grace. It has become a routine but most do not have a deep understanding about it.
Grace is not just a prayer you prayed. Grace is a *realm* you entered when you gave your life to Christ. Every believer now lives in the realm of grace but not everyone maximizes it because of ignorance.
For instance, there is something the bible calls "growing in grace". It means one enter into the realm of grace and not grow in it.
The law was given on one mountain to one nation. But our text says grace has *APPEARED* — _epiphaneia_ — like sunrise. When the sun appears, it does not appear to one house, it appears to all men in the field. No one had to beg the sun to shine. It just appeared.
That is what happened in Christ. Salvation is not hidden. Grace has appeared to all but not all men responded to it. Some responded. They enter grace for salvation and never grow in it.
> _"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord..."_ — _2 Peter 3:18_
*Peter says grace is a soil to grow in, not just a door to walk through.*
Grace is beyond a decision in a moment, rather, it is a place where you grow. Just like you plant in a garden. Some grow in response to sunlight while others do not grow.
How do we grow in grace?
*1. Grace grows by revelation.*
The more you see how much you are forgiven, accepted, empowered, the deeper your roots go. You need to continually focus on the finished work of Christ on the cross.
*2. Grace grows by exercise.*
Every time you choose to depend on His strength instead of your own self-securing, you grow. If you see any man who thinks he can stand by his own power&strength, he is a baby in grace matters. Those who trust in their strength always fail
*3. Grace grows to teach.*
Titus 2:12 says the same grace that saved us is the grace that _teaches us_ to deny ungodliness. Grace is not license to sin. Grace is power to say No. Any time you come under a teaching that teaches you how to say "no" to ungodliness, grace is speaking to you at that moment.
Today, don't just thank God for grace yesterday. Grow in grace today.
I am in grace. I will not remain a sprout. I grow in grace, I grow in knowledge, I grow in power. Grace teaches me and grace empowers me to live above sin.
