He was a British missionary sent to Ilesha in western Nigeria in the year 1937. He was a missionary with an Apostolic mandate to raise men who in turn will become spiritual fathers in Nigeria. Before 1987, University of Ife students that attended ECU know Pa S.G. Elton too well because he preaches in their fellowship twice a year.
Early in Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa's ministry, God told him to go meet Pa Elton for ministerial training in Ilesha. Several men of God like Gbile Akanni, Bishop Wale Oke, Ayo Babalola, Reuben Ezemadu, Emeka Nwankpa and a host of others drank from the depth of God's word in Pa Elton. Holiness was the core of his message that is why their generation is rooted deeply in holy living.
Just before the Biafra war, he prophesied
that a time will come when Federal government of Nigeria will pay graduates to preach in the nooks&crannies of Nigeria. Not long after, the NYSC scheme started, christians from different denominations gathered under the same umbrella for RURAL RUGGED EVANGELISM, the body later metamorphosed into the NIGERIA CHRISTIAN CORPERS' FELLOWSHIP (NCCF).

If you are yet to serve, I strongly believe that it is the perfect will of God for every Nigerian graduate to be in that prophetic body, shun the demon of denominationalism and this 'my church' attitude. Promote the unity of brethren in Nigeria by joining NCCF
