Gal6:10- "Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone- especially to those in the family of faith.
I was conversing with a woman in my church sometimes ago, she said the pastor of a popular church won't help you except you belong to his church. I remember a friend also wanted me to attend a church in Lagos after graduating from school so that the pastor would help me get a job, that is witchcraft and the spirit of denominationalism at work.
The scripture is clear that we must help those that belong to the family of THE FAITH, that doesn't necessarily mean your church member. It simply means those that belong to Christ. If you give me a job because I'm your church member, what will happen to me if I get a better job elsewhere, will I cease to be a member of your church?
Don't get things twisted, if any man is using this scripture to lure you into his church before he/she can help you, just let go. God is your helper not a church, just maintain your walk with him and never give up the faith.
If you want to help, render help without denomination attached, Christ in a believer is more than enough reason to be helped not because of his church.
- Do not attend a church because someone promised you a job or other benefit, look for where you can be fed and stay there.
