In one of the whatsapp groups I belong, I read the story of three robbers that enetered a house. They asked the lady of the house to bring all her cash and Jewelry, the lady gave it to them.
The leader of the robbers said, "Where is the diamond ring that your husband gave as a gift on your wedding anniversary?" She kept silent and brought the ring and gave it to them. The leader asked for the watch her sister sent from Dubai. She had tears in her eyes while handing over the gift given by her sister.
They demanded for a cup of coffee and she gave it to them. After drinking coffee, the head of the Robbers said, "Now bring the leftover pineapple cake from yesterday." After she was dispossesed of her belongings, she said, "You guys are very professional and ethical robbers. How did you know about the things inside our house?"
The leader of the robbers fixed the mask on his face and said, "Madam, we are your Facebook friends, we regularly read your posts. We also check your status".
As a child of God, wisdom demands that you live a simple and discrete life. You don't put all your life on social media for everyone to see. Not everyone seeing your progress is happy. You may be attacked from there.
What you don't post on social media, the public may not know. Issues you don't bring on social media, nobody will comment. Shield your life from toxic people.
There are things we should not know about you through social media. That thing that makes your fingers type and post everything on social media shows you are already living for the applause of men. That's not the life of a believer.
Can God be doing great and mighty things for you and through you without posting on social media? The ability to pause and ask the Holy Spirit speaks volumes about your maturity in the things of the Spirit.
I have seen preachers who display their shoes, chains, clean shavings, barbing time in the salon, watch, cars, etc. Displaying all these makes no sense to me.
A christian should not live for the optics. We are not content creators.
