A HANDFUL OF RICE

In a small Indian village known as Mizoram, some persons cultivated rice and decided to give the church a portion to sell so as to raise money for missionaries.

Those who committed themselves to this gave a handful of rice known as "Bufai Tham" in Indian language.

It is likened to giving a cup of rice to church to sell. This practice started in 1914 when poor villagers decided to support 'bible women' who were preaching the gospel.

When they started in 1914, all they received was $1.50cent but in 2010, the church realized $1.5million U.S.dollars from the sales of rice from inside a small village.

Today, the Mizoram church supports 1800 missionaries and sends them overseas. The sacrifice of the people made this possible because of their love for God's missions. That is what doing business for missions is about.

What role is your business playing in God's mission? Do you know you can do business for the purpose of supporting God's mission to the unreached? Yes you can. There are businesses for the belly and some for the kingdom.

I am passionate about raising believers whose entire life( business inclusive) will be dedicated towards expanding the frontiers of the kingdom.

Non-Christians do not separate their religious life from their business life because they know their businesses are part and parcel of their mission to spread their message.

It is only Christians I've seen who have dual lives. They have a spiritual life and secular life. The earlier you had realized that God want you to have one life. A life that count for His kingdom whether as a business man, politician, school teacher, doctor, engineer or banker.

God's kingdom must profit from our businesses. God is expecting your business to contribute to His mission of reaching the unreached.

Other religion and occultic sects in the world understand they cannot spread their message without money so they encourage their business men to dedicate a portion of their profit to their devilish agenda.

I heard about an occultic religious sect who approach young people to "evangelize" for them for 2-4 years. They buy their time with the promise of sending them to any school of their choice afterwards.

These sect build churches in major towns and cities. Their church structure is almost the same everywhere with sporting facilities. It was revealed their source of funding is from oil and gas. They've used business for their mission.

Terrorism is thriving because some money-bags and business moguls have committed their finances to it in no small measure.

Some bombs cost a million dollar yet terrorists have them in abundance whereas, there are people in poor nations without a bible translation in their local dialect. Bomb or bible, which is profitable?

Imagine what a million dollar will do if we invest it into God's missions to the unreached? People invest heavily into vanity but often, we think less of God's kingdom.

As a child of God in business, let your business impact on missions positively. Your business venture can adopt a missionary or a mission field for support.

When the devil want to fight a vision, If he cannot stop the people, he tries to stop the flow of finance towards that vision. Be missional in intent and purpose.

ACTION POINT Don't wait till your business grows big before you support missions. You can start with the little you have by adopting a missionary or sending your support. Remember, the people in Mizoram started by giving a handful of rice.
