In recent years, several teachers and teachings became loud and constant on social media. Unfortunately, most of these teachers and teachings are false while some are heretic.
Satan knows that most people no longer study bible on their own neither do they attend bible study meetings in their churches. He took his lies to them on social media and made those things appear to them repeatedly. He is controlling the narrative through the media.
Some have accepted these lies as true because that is what they see and hear often when they come on social media. Satan made it so. That the voice of lies is loud and repeated doesn't make it the truth.
Today, these false and heretic teachers already have disciples that follow them. They won them over through their constant posts on social media. That is not to say there aren't genuine teachings and teachers on social media. There are but they may not have large following like others.
What some persons know today about the bible are things they learnt from social media bible teachers not from their personal study of scriptures.
Whereas, bible says, "Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV).
Listen to my counsel, social media is not designed to take the place of personal and corporate bible study. To learn scriptures, you must belong to a church system where the word of God is taught deeply and systematically.
What you get on social media is piece meal not the real discipleship you need. No true believer is raised by social media preachers. Listening to the several teachers parading themselves as authority on facebook or twitter, you'll end up being confused and lost.
Also, that someone has the power of oration does not mean what he is saying is right. A liar, heretic and false teacher can be a fine and convincing talker.
Get a church, be under a pastor who values systematic teaching of the word. That is how you can grow. The social media is not a place designed for your spiritual growth, it is only a tool for socializing. You'll be helping yourself by learning under a sound bible teacher.
