PREGNANT WITH UNFORGIVENESS?

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

One of my tutors in school of ministry told the story of a pastor who had a revelation. In the revelation God showed him, he saw his church leaders carrying heavy pregnancy.

The males among them and even old women who have attained menopause were all pregnant in that revelation. He was confused about the meaning of that revelation.

The Holy Spirit told him that most of his leaders are carrying around the pregnancy of unforgiveness and bitterness towards one another. In that church, there were alot of in-fighting, strife, malice and dissensions.

He got on the pulpit and announced to the church that some men and women were pregnant. That shocked most of them because they wondered how a man could be pregnant. Later, he revealed details to them and reconciled them.

Are you pregnant? One of the many works of the flesh the enemy uses against believers is bitterness and unforgiveness. These produces malice and strife.

Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many ( Hebrews 12:15).

The enemy has hindered much good in the lives of some believers because they live in bitterness and unforgiveness perpetually. They're pregnant with hurts and pains towards people. They're full of bile and gall.

It is even worse when this happens among church folks. They could be in the same church shouting hallelujah and glory together but in their hearts, they feel like punching one another.

The Spirit of God doesn't flow where there's strife.

Some are mentally sick because they nurse and nurture bitterness towards others. They're full of hate. I've seen people who locked themselves in a self-imposed prison all because of unforgiveness.

Progress is always far from those who carry a baggage of their hurts and pains around.  They're toxic almost always.

I've learnt alot of lessons from little children. When they fight, they settle their issues quickly and continue playing together but adults often keep malice with one another instead of settling issues.

Little wonder why Christ said: "...“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven"( Mt18:3).

I'm baffled about how people manage to pray without settling issues with those that offend them. How people pray with a heavy heart against others remains a mystery I don't want to understand.

Jesus said, “Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses” (Mark 11:25-26).

Dearest, learn to settle issues so that your prayers will not be hindered. If you forgive others, you're helping no one but you because that's the only way to be forgiven by God.

God is merciful and can forgive the vilest offender. However, He want us to be merciful like him by showing mercy to others.

Don't allow anyone live in your head rent-free because they hurt you. That's too much for you to handle. Let go and let God heal you so that your life can know peace.

If you're pregnant with hate, bitterness and unforgiveness, abort them now so that your prayers and eternity with Christ won't be aborted.

Action Point:

Forgive your offenders.
